Analysis of the Influencing Factors of Social Participation Awareness on Urban Heritage Conservation: The Example of Suzhou, China

Social participation is an important tool in heritage conservation, but levels remain low developing countries. To increase social-participation awareness of urban-heritage this study aimed to find effective method determine the factors that affect awareness, with a focus on magnitude each influence. Through literature analysis we developed hypotheses about affecting and then linear regression model. In order test reliability model, selected Suzhou as research object obtained following conclusions: (1) Suzhou’s was positively correlated place identity, urban memory, subjective cognition, objective knowledge, identity. (2) The factor had strongest impact identity public space, residence time community sentiment also influencing (3) influenced memory were time, transformation, events most influential being lifestyle transformation. (4) Urban-heritage conservation higher among people living old city than new city.
